This home compostable cling wrap was developed over two years by Jordy & Julia Kay, entrepreneurs looking to develop a more eco-friendly pallet wrap. It is the only home compostable cling wrap on the market today that is actually made in Australia. Not only that, the majority of what goes into Great Wrap is made from potato waste (i.e. not PLA, which usually requires intensive agriculture). The wrap will last 2 years on the shelf, but will break down in your compost heap in about 180 days (with no residual toxins!). You can even put it in your worm farm! And even if it does end up in landfill, it will still break down in 1-3 years, but unlike many biodegradeable cling wraps, won’t break down into micro-plastics.
