Description
Vanilla is actually the fruit of an orchid; there are two main types; Tahitensis (native to Tahiti) and Planifolia (also sometimes referred to as bourbon vanilla) which is grown in India, Indonesia, Mexico, Guatemala and of course, Madagascar. These are of the latter variety, and have been organically grown in Papua New Guinea. Long, slender, and with a rich, sweet aroma, these pods each weigh in at around 5g, and are about 20cm long!
